Zero-jettiness resummation for top-quark pair production at the LHC

A bstract We study the resummation of 0-jettiness resolution variable $$ \mathcal{T} T 0 for top-quark pair production process in hadronic collisions. Starting from an effective theory framework we derive a factorisation formula this observable which allows its at any logarithmic order → limit. then calculate \mathcal{O} O ( α s ) corrections to soft function matrices and, by employing renormalisation group equation methods, obtain ingredients up next-to-next-to-leading (NNLL) accuracy. impact these distribution comparing predictions different accuracy orders: NLL, NLL′, NNLL and approximate NNLL′ {\mathrm{NNLL}}_{\mathrm{a}}^{\prime } NNLL a ′ ). match results corresponding fixed calculations both leading next-to-leading t \overline{t} t ¯ +jet process, obtaining most accurate prediction +NLO
